HI-LO FOURSOMES
It’s going to be an all-Frinton final for the Essex County Ladies Hi-Lo Foursomes competition to be held at Rochford Hundred GC. Louise Wood and partner Sarah Fryer go up against Caroline Gard and Ginny Richardson on Sunday, 3rd October.

LADIES AUTUMN MEETING
Frinton Lady Captain, Tracey Taylor, hosted her Autumn Meeting last Tuesday in summer-like weather, and with the newly cut rough, the fine scores reflected the conditions. The singles stableford results were reported by handicap division.
First division (0-27) and overall winner was Sarah Taylor with a brilliant 43 points. Angela Vaughan won the second division (28-40) with 40 points, and Gina Donnelly’s 36 points put her in first place in division 3 (41-59). Deborah Tanner scored 38 points to make her overall third.

KIRBY 10-HOLE TEXAS SCRAMBLE
The afternoon competition consisted of a 10-hole Texas Scramble on the Kirby Course. Lynne Smith, Angela Vaughan, and Claire Vaughan won it with 22.4 nett.

FRIDAY STABLEFORD
In the last Friday of the month stableford competition, open to all Havers Course members, Sandra Balderston was the winner with 43 points. Jeffrey Morgan’s 39 put him in second place, and Geoff Taylor was awarded third on count back with his 38 points, just ahead of John Warner.



OVER 70s and OVER 80s
In the men’s section, the over-70s and over-80s trophies were in contention on Wednesday. Chris Taylor was the Over-70s winner, and Brian Stokes the Over-80s.

LORNA FAIRBROTHER FOUR CLUB SALVER
And finally, all Havers Course members were eligible to play for the Lorna Fairbrother Four Club Salver on Saturday. It was misty to start, but soon cleared to a bright day. Jamie Fuller won it on count back with 42 points, just ahead of Robert Newton, proving you don’t really need 14 clubs in your bag. Caroline Grey did the ladies section proud, finishing third with 39 points.
