The ladies’ section at Frinton GC played a stableford on Tuesday while competing for the best Christmas hat prize at the same time. The ground was a bit soggy due to the recent rain, but the ladies’ spirits were seasonally bright.

Sarah Taylor won the golf event with 35 stableford points and Caroline Gard was second with 31 points.

There were two best hat winners - Ginny Richardson and Sarah Taylor - although neither lady was actually seen wearing her hat whilst playing! Bottles of champagne went to both winners.
