It was a full field of 76 members playing at Frinton GC for the Courage Cup on Sunday in very windy conditions. It was a mixed stableford competition.

Jamie Baker was the winner, amassing 44 points in all, Paul Roberts came in second with 40 points and Dave Fennelly finished third with 38.

The ladies got very wet on Tuesday when they played for the Flateau Cup, a medal event with a handicap limit of 36. But the weather didn’t dampen their spirits.

Vice-Captain Tracey Taylor won it with a score of 76 nett. Sarah Taylor (no relation) was in second place with 77 and Louise Wood took third with 79.

The weather was much better for the last Friday of the month stableford, open to all Havers Course members, but after all the rain, it was still soggy underfoot.

Hamish Stubbs (handicap 1) won it with a very respectable score of 43 points. Geoffrey Taylor was in second place with 40 points and Stephen Phillips was awarded third place on count back with 38 points
